PRACC 2013- Final results

November 5, 2013

We have now come to the end of yet another year which unfortunately ended with the loss of the National Championships at Gosport due to weed.  However John Smith and the Gosport Club managed to come up with a replacement date for the Gosport PRACC for which all concerned should be thanked and 18 of us had a good, if somewhat wet, days sailing.

There would appear to be a fairly widespread weed problem particularly in the southern half of the country and this is causing skippers a load of grief.  We have had more than our fair share at Poole where, currently, both of our lakes are not sailable.

As usual I must thank all those clubs and their members who hosted events and this was much appreciated by all who took part.  Also thanks must go to all those who took part to make for an enjoyable days racing around the country.  Peter Wiles has once again emerged as the winner – well done Peter.  Vernon Appleton came a commendable second and, making up the top three, Richard Uttley finished third – well done to you both.  The Gerry Gray Trophy this year will go to Peter Wiles which, interestingly, he has not won before.

Next years programme for the PRACC is in its final stages and, as soon as the MYA calendar is finalised I will put the dates and venues and dates on the web
