1st Blood to Peter Wiles in the 2011 PRACC Series

March 21, 2011

The 2011 PRACC series started off with a closely fought event at Hampton Court.
After a few attempts PRO Colin Trower was able to set a good long course the full length of the Rick Pond, the fluctated 8-10mph wind kept all the skippers on their toes and picking the right shift was important all day long.

A good turn out of 20 boats were split in to 2 fleets and the race team managed to complete 9 races before the agreed finishing time of 4.20pm.

Pete Wiles and Dave Andrews were the consistent skippers in the fleet. as can be seen from the final results, although they didnt have all their own way. Trevor Binks, Lester Gilbert and the mighty Vernon Appleton who appears to have found the right boat for himself, sailing Tom Wilkinson’s bright red Sweet Mk9 into 4th place.

The days racing was in the right spirit with no protests and everyone appeared to enjoy themselves.

Thanks to Colin and his race team, particularly William who was given the task of sprinting between race team and scorer Laurie.

Look out for the NOR for rd 2 at Eastbourne in early April.

Check back later when we will have a few pictures added.
